Youth learn by doing in Ferry County
4-H. They participate in projects that give them knowledge
in the areas of science, agriculture, home economics, personal
development, community service learning, leadership and citizenship.
Often the knowledge youth gain in 4-H leads to a career. Youth
learn to define and solve problems facing them and their communities.
The interest-driven project is the foundation of the 4-H Program.
Flexibility in learning offered, and the variety and number
of projects are the keys to 4-H success in Ferry County. The
five types of 4-H enrollments are: Organized 4-H Club, Individual/Family
Club, Special Interest, School Enrichment and School-Age Care.
4-H is open to youth in kindergarten
who have reached their 5th birthday before January 1 of the
current 4-H year (October 1-Sept 30) through those in the
12th grade or who have not reached their 19th birthday before
January 1 of the current 4-H year. Special Education youth
older than 19 may enroll with approval of the Ferry County
4-H agent.
