The 4-H office can also provide contact information for the Ferry County 4-H Horse Committee.

Equine projects are open to all youth. See below for specific age requirements for each project. Equine projects include:

  • Horseless Horse - primary 4-H'ers may enroll, ages 5 years old and in Kindergarten
  • Beginning Horsemanship - required for 1st year Equine project members, juniors through seniors
  • Horsemanship, Management, and Care - juniors through seniors


Ferry County 4-H Equine Group with Fair Judge

Equine projects develop leadership, initiative, self-reliance, sportsmanship, and other desirable traits of character in addition to developing an understanding of the responsibilities of managing a horse. Youth also develop an appreciation of horseback riding as a healthy form of recreation. Life skills include learning about organization and record keeping.
