FORESTRY
Dan Fagerlie, Ferry County Extension Agent
Dan Fagerlie is located in the lower floor of the Ferry County
Courthouse. He provides research based education to the citizens
of Ferry County. He works with state specialists in forestry, range,
wildlife, watershed management, and recreation to form the Extension
Natural Resources team.
The Forest Stewardship Program is an educational program
for private non-industrial forest land owners who wish to participate
in educational programs including Coached Planning and the Forest
Managment and Marketing Field Day. These offerings are also supplemented
by Forest Stewardship Notes, and a state-wide newsletter published
three times a year.
The Forest Stewardship Program is a USDA sponsored project designed
to provide educational and economic incentives for private land
owners wisshing to manage their forests for the enhancement of wildlife,
recreation, aesthetics, fish habitat, timber, and soil and water
protection.

Emily Burt, Area Forester
Emily Burt serves as District Extension Forester in NE Washington
(Ferry, Stevens, Spokane & Pend Oreille counties) and is also
the project coordinator for the Forest, Watershed and Fisheries
Program in Ferry County. Emily provides educational programs for
NIPF (Non-Industrial Private Forest) landowners, loggers, area youth
and forestry consultants. She is based in Republic at the WSU Ferry
County Extension Office.
