4-H "Souper" Saturday Great Success!

4-H "Souper" Saturday was held March 21, 2009 in Keller. This free event was open to all 4-H members, leaders, parents and non-4-H youth accompanied by a parent or guardian. The participants came out and celebrated March as National Nutrition Month.

The 4-H youth and community adult members made Powwow Soup and No-Fry Frybread with Judy Moses, Family and Consumer Sciences Educator on the Colville Reservation. This made a great lunch for all and everyone even asked for the recipe so they could make it at home.

Other activities included sewing hot pads with Okanogan County 4-H Agent Ann Fagerlie. We hear these will make great Mother's Day gifts! Colville Reservation 4-H Leaders Karen Neal and Dolly Brudevold taught a class on making model tipis.

If you would like more information on 4-H or community events on the Colville Reservation, contact Judy at (509) 634-2306. Informational Flyer
